Dear Naghmeh, thank you for sharing these "conversations" and also translating them. Being out of Iran for 40 years has made reading Farsi slow for some of us. I understand Ms. Hedayat's anger and support Mr. Salamat's call for dialogue. I think the new generation needs to understand is the truth about the revolution. It didn't start with Islamists and followers of Khomeini; it started with the call to return to the 1906 constitution from the remnants of the liberal democrat, National Front, and was supported by moderate religious leaders. For reasons beyond this comment, it was stolen by the most radical of the Islamic establishment. We rejected dialogue then, and we are rejecting it now to our own peril. There are no easy and overnight solutions, and we need leadership to get there.
This intelligent dialogue gives me hope for the future of Iran. Thank you for translating them and making them available to us.
Thanks so much for providing these narratives and debates from inside
